CASINO RESORT TO HOST 2ND ANNUAL BLUFF CITY TEXAS HOLD ‘EM OPEN BENEFITING
UNITED CEREBRAL PALSY OF THE MID-SOUTH United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) of the Mid-South will once again partner with the Grand Casino Resort and Harrah’s Entertainment to host the Second Annual Bluff City Texas Hold ‘Em. Open on Saturday, May 20 st, and Sunday, May 21nd. Last year’s event was the nation’s largest charitable poker tournament and this year’s tournament promises to be even bigger and better.Over the weekend, 600 seats will be filled with players
vying for a total prize pool estimated at more than $35,000. First place
winners will receive a seat to the 2006 World Series of Poker with paid
travel The co-winners of last year’s tournament were Krystal Nelson of Tunica, MS, and Chris Wiggins of Memphis, TN. Nelson achieved great success at the 2005 World Series of Poker held at the Rio in Las Vegas, with winnings of $54,965. She finished 119 out of the 5,619 participating players. To register, interested players should visit the Grand Casino Poker Room in person beginning May 1, 2006. The cards will fly promptly at 12:00 noon, May 21 st and at 1:00 p.m., May 22nd.Proceeds from the tournament will benefit UCP of the Mid-South. The mission of UCP is to advance the independence, productivity and full citizenship of people with all types of disabilities.
