Poker Celebrities
CHRIS
“JESUS” FERGUSON
Ferguson is the 2000 world poker champion. He has won six WSOP gold
bracelets in his distinguished poker career, which dates back over the past
decade. Ferguson earned a Ph.D in computer science and has a keen interest
in game theory. He says that his ultimate aspiration is to teach game theory
at the college level. Today, Ferguson plays tournaments exclusively, and
can be seen competing at all major World Series of Poker events. He is
perhaps poker's most instantly recognizable personality, due to his
trademark black wardrobe, long hair and beard, and black cowboy hat.
Ferguson is also an accomplished dancer and master of card tricks. He lives
in Los Angeles, CA.
ROBERT
WILLIAMSON III
Robert Williamson is one of poker's most well-liked and respected
personalities. He is widely acknowledged as one of the world's best
Pot-Limit Omaha players. His record in the Pot-Limit Omaha championship over
the past four years is as impressive as any WSOP accomplishment. Williamson
won a gold bracelet in the Omaha championship in 2002, and has since
finished in second place two times and third place once. Williamson plays
high-limit cash games when he's not competing in tournaments. Williamson is
recently married and has homes in both Dallas and Las Vegas.
ANTONIO
“THE MAGICIAN” ESFANDIARI
Esfandiari earned his fitting nickname as a former professional
magician. He grew up in the San Francisco Bay area and worked magic shows as
a teenager. When he turned 21, Esfandiari began taking poker more seriously
and began playing in low limit games. He discovered a natural talent for the
game and then started entering tournaments. Within two years, Esfandiari was
competing in the World Series of Poker. He won his first gold bracelet in
2004 and has since become one of poker's most charismatic and recognizable
superstars. Esfandiari still performs magic tricks and is a regular on the
tournament circuit. He currently lives in San Francisco.
