Little River Band is coming to Sam’s Town’s River Palace Entertainment Center, Saturday, January 27, 2007 at 8 p.m. Tickets are on sale now and are available at the Sam’s Town box office, through Ticketmaster at 901.525.1515, or on-line at www.ticketmaster.com. Little River Band, an Australian rock music band formed in Melbourne, evolved from the harmony-rock group Mississippi in 1975. They found immediate success in Australia, however, its members had greater ambitions. The band focused on establishing themselves in the U.S. Little River Band became the first Australian group to realize sustained commercial and chart success in the U. S.
Fueled by a very successful Australian hit single “Curiosity Killed The Cat”, Little River Band began promotional visits to the U.S. in 1976. This resulted in a hit single, “It’s A Long Way There”. From 1978 until 1981, the band achieved six consecutive U.S. Top 10 singles with “Reminiscing”, “Lady”, “Lonesome Loser”, “Cool Change”, “The Night Owls”, and “Take It Easy On Me”. During their career the band has sold more than 20 million records and enjoyed 13 U.S. American Top 40 Hits.
