FARRADDAYS’ RESTAURANT
You may think of Farraddays’ as simply a great restaurant with the best
steaks, seafood and desserts you ever ate. But for Farradday, this place is
really a picture of his life story.
Looking around, you can see that Farradday did quite a bit of traveling
before, after and during the big war. With no formal education, Farraddaay
became wise and worldly through his many adventures. While in the U.S.
Navy, Farradday did tours of duty in the South Pacific, Italy, New Orleans,
Houston and he even had a short stay in New York City. It was in the South
Pacific that he met and adopted his trusty parrot Eno. Here he learned to
appreciate the native people and their island dishes.
Of all the places Farraddays’ visited, he knew that New Orleans would be
where he would settle down. He of often wondered how he could bring his
favorite experiences back with him. One quiet night, on the ship that was
bringing him home, with Eno sitting on his shoulder, it suddenly came to
him. He would create a restaurant called Farraddays’! He would have great
chefs recreate his favorite foods from his Iowa childhood and his years of
traveling. He would decorate the room with memories so that he could
re-live his best times. And, he would share all these good things with the
people he cared about most. Farradday has continued his travels, always
looking for new and delicious foods to bring back to his restaurant. A few
years ago, Farradday and his wife visited San Francisco. Last summer,
Farradday and his Navy buddies reunited on a cross-country culinary road
trip. Naturally, Farradday can’t wait to share some terrific new dishes
with you!
So when you taste the Coconut Shrimp or Farraddays’ favorite Chop Chop
Salad, you’ll know why he adored the South Pacific. When you sink your
teeth into the finest aged, family selected beef, you’ll know why Farradday
is still devoted to his Iowa roots. When you finish your meal with New York
Cheesecake or Bourbon Street Pecan Pie, you’ll be tasting the flavors of
Farraddays’ childhood and his love affair with New Orleans.
Above all, Farraddays’ greatest joy is in knowing that you are sharing the
best of his life on the Mississippi River and the high seas, in this, his
own special place. So relax, Take a bite of that sweet buttermilk biscuit
or Italian Paesano bread. Have an Island Cooler and enjoy yourself! Your
at Farraddays’!
