What's a Slot
Tournament and How Does It Work?
This is one of the most asked questions we receive. Slot
Tournaments are fun and exciting. If you can push the spin button you have
the skill to win. That's it! That's all it takes!
There are two kinds of Slot Tournaments, Open
and Invitational.
Open Slot Tournament - means anyone can play. Sometimes there is a
fee, sometimes there isn't. The fee maybe you need to earn a specified
number of points on your player's card or cash. Anyone can play as long as
you make the fee requirements.
Invitational Slot Tournament - means the participants must be invited
by the casino. Casino marketing may send you a mail out invitation or
someone from the casino may call you to invite you to join in. Invitationals
are not open to the public. They are strictly by invitation only.
Money? - During the slot tournament you
do not put money in the slot machines. The machines are set with a
predetermined amount of credits and you have a predetermined amount of time
to use them up. The only money you are "out" is the fee to participate.
Procedure
•
You must register. Usually there is a table
set up attended by the casino's staff. You will need to present your
Player's Card and meet the requirements such as the fees, earned points, or
your invitation. You will be assigned a time to play.

When your time comes you may be assigned a
machine, or you may select the one you prefer, depending on the regulations
of that particular tournament.

The director of the tournament will tell you
when to start. Time to play maybe 5, 10 or more minutes. Now you click the
spin button as fast as you can to take advantage of every spin possible with
the credits on your machine and the time allowed. This is where you hear all
of the whopping and hollering and the excitement as competition heats up.

When the playing time is up you sit at your
machine until a casino employee comes by to record your score.

You will be instructed or the scores will be
posted to announce who comes back for the final round.
Some slot tournaments require you to play more than one round and tally your
score from each session for a total. Some have only one qualifying round.
The players with the highest scores come back for a final round. From the
final round the winners will be in the top 4, 10, or any place numbers the
casino decides.

Winners are announced at a specified date and
time. Some casinos also offer an attendance drawing for everyone who
participated. You will have a chance to win something again from the
drawing.
