Casino Resort Tunica to Host World Series of Poker Circuit Tournament
January 7-17, 2007
TUNICA, MS – The high-stakes action of the World Series of Poker, the richest sporting event on the planet, is coming to Grand Casino Resort for the fourth time in two years from January 7 through 17, 2007.
The World Series of Poker Circuit schedule for Grand Casino Resort will include 16 tournament events, with buy-ins ranging from $175 up to $5,000 for the no-limit hold’em finale. The winner of the $5,000 championship will receive cash plus a $10,000 buy-in to the World Series of Poker Main Event at the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas next July.
“The World Series of Poker is without question the single most prestigious gambling event anywhere, and we’re thrilled to bring all the excitement of the tournament back to our customers,” said Bill Wright, senior vice president and general manager of Grand Casino Resort.
In September 2006, the Grand Casino Resort Circuit event drew 5,419 entrants who competed against prominent players and shared in over $750,000 in total prize money.
